On 30th May, 2015 a number of students from ACS competed at the All Ireland Schools athletics in Tullamore. There were some great performances and medals won by Ashbourne Community School’s students Shane Joyce, Michael O'Sullivan, Keith Marks and Luke Redmond.

As a team they came 5th in the 4x100m relay and they were overall winners of the Senior Boys Track and Field!

Keith Marks came second in the High Jump with a height of 2 meters and first in the long jump with a length of 7.21 meters (a new personal best for him) which was a further 54 centimetres on his previous best jump which he achieved in the Leinster finals only two weeks earlier in Santry – this is a remarkable achievement!

Shane Joyce came 1st in the triple jump 13.96 meters and second in the Javelin 52.25.

Overall Ashbourne won best senior boys team in the country!  This is an outstanding achievement as it essentially makes ACS the best school in the country for boys athletics.
This, the College of Science Cup has been previously won by Belvedere College for the last 14 years!

Ashbourne Community School’s Principal, Áine O’Sullivan and the students and staff of Ashbourne Community School congratulate Keith, Shane, Michael and Luke – you have made Ashbourne and your school proud!
