Community
School was rewarded for the quality of her linguistic skills. Carmel Moore who sat her Leaving Certificate in 2007 achieved the second best result in Leaving Certificate Spanish in the country.
Carmel’s achievement was recognised in a special ceremony held in the Cervantes Institute and she received her award from the Spanish ambassador, HE Jose de Caravajal. It was a wonderful celebration of the Spanish language and the student’s proficiency in the language which is impressive.
The ceremony was also attended by the Argentinean ambassador and the
Leinster and Argentinean rugby player Felipe Conteponi who presented students with Argentinean rugby jerseys.
Carmel’s achievement is impressive; her oral, aural and written skills in Spanish are of the very highest standards.
Carmel is currently studying Medicine in The Royal College of Surgeons. We wish her the very best in her future career and hope that her language skills will enrich her journey through life.
