The PTA is affiliated to PACCS, the association for parent bodies of Community and Comprehensive schools.  Every 3rd year, we organise the election of two parent representatives on the Board of Management.
On an annual basis, the PTA sponsors the Awards Night in the school and the 6th Year Graduation. We also sponsor several scholarships.
WEIGHT OF SCHOOL BAGS
To alleviate the heavy weight of our children's school bags, in 2008/09, we  invested, along with the school in purchasing class sets for 1st Years who study CSPE, Home Economics, Metalwork, Science.  This means 1st Year students can leave these books at home for homework purposes and the purchased books will be availabe for use in the classroom.
UNIFORMS
We supply the school uniform through the school uniform shop. Profits are used to help reduce costs for parents/guardians. So far, we have been able to defray the costs of Junior and Leaving Certificate Mock exams on an annual basis.  For incoming 1st Years commencing September 2010, uniform collection dates has been scheduled for:
Thursday 19th August  )
Friday 20th August       ) between 3.30 pm and 5.00 pm
Tuesday 24th August   )
For the purchase and ordering of uniforms for all other years in time for September 2010, the shop will open from the 17th May until 27th May (Mon-Fri) from 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm.
INSURANCE
We offer on an optional basis 24 hour individual insurance for students - this is available for uptake each September.
